No the wheel does not have to come off as its just one hex head holding the paddles on that can easily be accessed from the back.

They look like the ones on the Disco4 that sell for about £50 secondhand over on the D3/4 forum. "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.
