This doesn’t help here, but I am honestly baffled why folks take the LR warranty, it’s like tissue paper compared to the competition. I favour Warranty Direct but there are others. WD would have settled this no questions asked in my experience.

In terms of your miss-selling claim, the law is definitely on the side of the consumer and it’s worth pursuing, but this might drag in for ages. Hopefully sanity prevails!

I have to say, my experience with WD was faultless. They paid out over £9,000.00 no quibbles. They have changed ownership since so I am out of date but a few years back there was nothing to touch them. 2003 VW Golf V6 4motion

I thought some of our experiences with Taggarts were rough, this is a whole new level!

I hope you get the resolution you want without to much fuss.

Thanks David.

Ive passed to a lawyer now to handle now.

Needless to say JLR have been pretty useless too. I think they don't get that they solicit the sale of the warranty, then don't understand how poorly their customers are treated by dealerships to support the warranty......it could have all been avoided by now, but I'm far too tenacious for that!! And I do believe they could have simply handled it all so much better........

JLR call recordings turned up this morning....the best one is

JLR: "So sir what do you expect us to do for you now?"
Me: "I'd like you and Taggarts to pickup the bill thanks"
JLR: "Well thats not gonna happen"
Me: "Well if you knew that then why ask me, why not just say that, what sort of game are you asking me to play?"
JLR: "Sorry Sir you re right, we did know that answer, and I apologise.....but we are still not paying for it"
Me: "Cool, I'll just hand off to my lawyer"
JLR: "Whatever......"

I might have slightly altered the last reply but its summarised pretty well.....lol

The problem they have is I dont care now!!

Taggarts have told JLR - Ive to pay for it, or pick my car up! OH yeah thats the one now with no MOT and not roadworthy and in bits......hmm......good luck!!! all smug in my new plug!

Have a chat with Douglas at Prestige Jaguar Land Rover in Paisley.

He’s administered the warranty on our cars and looks after 2 Range Rovers, a Freelander and an XFR for us now. I cannot fault them. The XFR has the JLR approved warranty on it and he’s done all the work for me.

I can’t praise them enough. Someone who knows the product inside out and doesn’t bullshit.

Thanks David, will keep him in mind for future.

I will only have the Evoque until July, and the FFRR until Sept/Oct I would think now, so hopefully like the previous 3 years I wont have much trouble as in general my car is excellent quality, and Ive just been unlucky I think in this instance.

If it was a 300 quid bill I wouldn't even both, but at 2700 which is about 10% of the car value now, I'm happy to pursue JLR in the first instance.

Thanks for the info tho, it might help others not fall into our trap.
