Have you bought it recently?
If so you have a warranty.

. Cheers, Greg

thanks for all the above recommendations

i did buy it recently however the 'dealership' isn't keen on giving me a refund - may have to get serious depending on what it is - any clever ideas on the best way forward...?

Under some law they have to attempt to put it right. Within a certain number of days you are entitled to a full refund. Again, I forget the detail.

If you search the OP's posts he sold it 3 years ago. Use the same advice as was given originally and get a good indy LR specialist to have a look at it. Where in the UK are you? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Up in Scotland, unfortunately I am a farmers son therefore far to miserable to pay a proffesional. My Brother has a garage and I take it there when I have any problems.I was just hoping for a few pointers before I get the big hammer and blunt screwdriver out.

Cheers. Very Happy

Maybe make a video like the OP ( but better ) and try to pinpoint the source of the noise in the engine bay. Remove the engine cover as well when you do it. Buy a GAP IID tool and put it through the farm business as an expense and reclaim the VAT as well..... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
