If you were in the market to buy a set of 4 or 5 used, excellent condition genuine LR wheels, would you rather buy a set of wheels with premium branded, undamaged, decent tread life left tyres on them , or would you rather just buy the wheels and arrange to get and have fitted your own tyres?

I would ask Sophie if Duckworths have any new take offs.

Bought many sets with tyres, had some real bargains over the years where the price for both is less than the price for a new set of tyres on there own.

If you’re buying on photo’s and description alone you have to trust the seller to a certain extent, but I haven’t come unstuck yet

I did mean buying used wheels with tyres on (or not) from someone privately. Wasn't thinking take offs specifically

I bought a set of 5 L405 502 model wheels fitted with Pirelli Verde All Season M+S from EBay 2hen I picked up my L322.

One tyre was brand new and the 4 others had 6mm of tread. The wheels were used with a few light scratches but no kerb damage.

Picked all 5 up for £425.

If I don’t like the tyres that are on wheels I like I value them as worthless.

I've had my Westie over 3 1/2 years and covered 75k miles and never visited a tyre supplier to replace any tyres.

I bought a set of wheels and tyres off Stan and then my current set of 21's brand new off Red Merle, in both cases for less than just buying tyres on their own.

It does mean I have a couple of sets of Westie wheels and knackered tyres in the garden which is now causing me some serious grief with SWMBO  2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

I would just buy the rims as I tend to be very specific with the tyres I want.

Update:
The person who bought our four Style 5004 alloys only wanted the wheels as they’d bought their own new tyres. Wasn’t interested in our part worn.
