Servicing schedule

Took mine to main dealer for minor service oil and filter etc in November 19. Since then I've done 4k miles. Service light has come back on. Surely it cant want another service so soon and with not many miles on it? Serviced at 105k, 109k on it now.

I called LR and woman in service dept said it must be a mistake and to bring vehicle back at my convenience and they will reset the service.

Took the car to LR this afternoon to be told it needs to be booked in, could be a software update, oil dilution issue or just require an oil filter., I said surely not oil as it had fresh oil and a filter 4k/3months ago and the service dept bloke was like "yes it could need oil and filter sir its very rare for the service light to come on as a freak accident" a bit miffed off if I've got to service it again so soon.

Well I highly doubt they did as I swapped the oil coller seals a few weeks ago and the oil is black as hell and didnt look very clean so it does give me doubt. Then again I'm not sure how 4k mile oil would appear.

I agree the oil looks black within the first week.
I accidentally overfilled mine slightly after an oil change. Only the following day and 20miles max, I sucked out half a litre to put it right, but I was amazed how soon it had got really black.
