I love my Full Fat L405

One thing I've noticed is that people seem always quick to moan about their Range Rovers going wrong but as per the title I'd like to report for 'the other side' of ownership -
one year of ownership, 21,000 miles covered , (47,000 in total) not a single warranty issue.. ... and just had first MOT, no issues to report either... Very Happy
I've spent £140.00 om a genuine windscreen, £210.00 on a side step bracket (my fault) and £140.00 on new rear pads... oh and a B service at £450.00. and that's it... apart from £1,000.00 paint correction and detailing work ......even my insurance was £368.00 fully comp!

Surely I'm not alone?

discuss.............. Thumbs Up .
It's better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission ......... apparently!

I've had my current L322 3.6 TDV8 for just about 2 Years now.
I bought it really really cheap and TBH was expecting a big bill for something as it was an absolute steal.
That turned out to be a Gearbox rebuild within 4 Months of having it Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
Since then nothing apart from standard Service ie Wear and Tear Items, been through 2 MOT's and passed with no advisories on both.
Touch wood it seems to be very reliable and i absolutely love driving it any chance i get Cool Cool Cool

Spain 2010 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

Purchased my L322 tdV8 4.4 from 2010 in November 2018 in Germany at nearly half the price compared to Belgium. Off course there were some things to expect, hence the price.
In the meantime I drove 70.000 kms and this is what I have encountered next to regular maintenance:
- Changed all discs (F/R)
- New Michelin (JLR)
- Changed the DAB receiver -> DAB+
- Optical changes like new rubbers next to the rear window, new engine side rubbers, left a-pillar plastic (mine was blown away during a storm Rolling with laughter )
- Towbar
- O-rings and recently a new Oil Cooler change
- New Throttle

For me this is all within the expected boundaries!
Just purchased 8 used 20' rims with 4 summer (7 & 5 mm) and 4 winter (5 mm) tyres, all Michelins for only € 1.200.

So for me the costs are not exceeding the expectations and the running costs can be managed properly.
The cars runs smooth, powerful and relaxing. I will enjoy every kilometer to come Thumbs Up RR Vogue, 4.4 TDV8, 10/2010, Santorini Black

Had an L322 for 4 years and had 4 issues, all resolved under warranty and took the car everywhere. Got my L405 18 months ago and it has been faultless so far. Until I got the 405 the 322 was the best car I’d ever had. Now it’s the 405. It’s by some distance the best car ever!!

The insurance on my L405 is only around £350, and that's fully-comp with full business cover too!
Infact, when I changed cars from my Mini Cooper Roadster (or Go-Cart as Mrs C would call it) to the FullFat my insurance only went up by about a tenner Laughing Current

It quite the same but I’ve had a 2007 rr sport tdv8 for about 5 years. Bought it with 85k on the clock and now it has 162k.
All I’ve done is wishbones, air suspension pump and egr valves.
It looks like a worn out old beast but roars away like a goodun and feels like a part of me.

Hence my quest to get an sdv8 vogue for the missus to replace her 3 litre Porsche macan s diesel.

I think it’s about luck really you can get a goodun or you can get your heart broken. A bit like women😂

Ok I’ll get my coat.

I came from a D4, similar to RM but had an L322 Westie before that but didn't know about the forum, but as it was bombproof as far as reliability goes, I didn't need to. I still miss that car and keep looking at AT.

I've had my L405 coming up 6 months now and yes its had a coolant leak but was fixed during lockdown (touch wood) its not tainted my view of the car and I still love it and still find myself looking out of the window at it.

My D4 with business insurance was around £700, same level of cover on the L405 is £390.

I'm with LV, also have Full NCB.

Glass XS is high at £190 but when I asked for Dealer glass with my previous 2 insurers, the XS ended being £250.

I'm also with LV, but in London with on-street parking it is much much much much much much more expensive.

But I also love my fatty. It is reliable, also temperamentally quirky sometimes, a bit like the rest of my family. I will be even happier when the driver's side grab handle stops squeaking over bumps. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

I'm with LV as others are to - my insurance covers business and the glass excess is £190.00 ... still cheap compared to main dealer price to supply at £900.00 .. and then fitting

my wife just insured a RRS 66 plate for £430.00 fully comp with us both as named drivers Thumbs Up we are both 51 and have excellent driving records.

I also have a Subaru Impreza and a Mitsubishi Evo Vi and pay a shade over £400.00 a year on a multi car policy ..

just to annoy you even more .... Rolling with laughter .
