Random Engine Cutout V8 LPG

So a weird problem has just popped up.

When braking and/or steering left mainly or just coasting to a halt and always at 20mph or less...

The engine just cuts out, so as well as no drive, no power steering either nor any braking assist, so a bit worrying!?

I have iid tool bit don't know what to look for, any ideas out there?

One thing that has happened very recently is the beast was MOT and major services, the battery was reclamped and a couple of unknown thin gauge wires were trapped under the battery itself in the process.

Can't see any cable damage as such but retrieved the offending CA Les and that seems to have reduced the frequency of these cutouts but may be unconnected of course!

Each cutout recovers by putting vehicle into park then turning ignition key, can then run fine for rest of journey or can cut out again always in same driving conditions.

I'm doing a lot of volunteer driving for elderly and vulnerable hereBoits for shopping, meds etc so many stop-start short trips. "Gloria" 2002 L322 Voguish V8 LPG - carcass

This happened to my old 2004 4.4 V8.

It turned out there WAS a loose connection on one of the battery poles and any bump or direction change could make it lose all electric power.

Do you have a secondary battery fitted in the rear? If that discharges, then it will drain the main battery, again losing all power.

sounds like a battery connection, or an alarm/anti theft problem to me, but hey my 2 pence etc.

Does it happen at low revs and when on gas? I had an old e class running lpg and when at low speed/revs and turning the wheel it sometimes stalled. It was low rpm and you could not adjust it without appropriate MB tool.

It only needed a tweak in revs 2011 4.4tdv8 Vogue
