Faulty CSOV - fix or replace?

Hi,

Hope this questions finds everyone well and healthy.

I need to change the shut off valve as it is not working as it should. There is a service bulletin which refers to a replacement actuator kit as a fix;

My question is;

Has anyone done this update/changed the entire valve and if so; is the upgrade permanent fix or do you recommend I change the entire valve?

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Baltic Blue

The CSOV stuck on my 2011 VSE whilst it was still under warranty.
It was before I owned a GAPiid, so I was unable to read fault codes, but the car tripped into restricted performance as soon as it hit 2,500rpm
The dealer replaced the full unit with the modified type and it has been fine since.

Thanks Mike!

If mine was under warranty I would insist on a completely new unit....but it´s not Rolling Eyes

So basically just wondering if I can get away with 100 pounds for the actuator kit rather than 500 punds for a complete unit....

It might be prudent to confirm that your linkage retaining screw isn't frozen (rusted in?) before ordering the updated linkage kit. However this likely requires the valve to be removed to check thus making for extra work if the valve has to be refitted before the kit arrives.

Graeme, excuse my ignorance but would a stuck retaining screw mean that the whole unit would need to be replaced? RR Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - 11

A screw attaches the linkage to the shaft so if it can't be undone then the linkage can't be changed. Same for the vacuum chamber attachment screws.
