Below is my 15 year old TD6 with 103,000 on the clock. The paintwork is very good, however you do tend to get corrosion on the rear wheel arches.

Now that sort of wear and tear I can live with. That looks lovely.

We had a 2003 L322 for 13 years (until it was 16 years old) in silver, never had any trouble with the paint. Currenly have 2010 L322 also in silver, paint is very good (and I'm a finicky old s*d). Drives:

I would say the L322 paint is very good indeed. The oldest ones are +18 years old and when cares for a bit, they still look great.

If you just chuck it through a car wash every week, it will probably suffer, polish it now and again with a good quality polish and that will give it the UV protection it needs.... |

My D2 will be the workhorse - its paint's already knackered - and the RR will be pampered. Meguiers products, fusso coating - I may even get it ceramic coated.

Twice a year with quality products is OK for the leather, I used to do the dash top more often as it gets hit the worse... |

My 2012 WM was silver, no issues with the paint as such up to year five when I traded it in, but the upper tailgate had to be replaced due to corrosion after two years and the rear wheel arches had to be treated for rust and repainted every spring from year two and a half. Earlier 322s were better as regards corrosion. So with older cars be sure to check for rust/paint bubbles, mainly those areas, but generally. Trim around windows is another area that is prone to corrosion, as are certain wheel styles. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

I've become aware of the most rust prone areas but I didn't realise that the newer models were more prone to rust than the older ones.

My 2012 had The upper tailgate painted for corrosion at 3 years old under warranty and I had both rear arches painted mid 2019 due to rust.

To clear up a little... polish and wax are 2 different things. Polish is exactly that; an abrasive that removes a tiny layer of lacquer to flatten (or soften the edges of) any scratches. It has no protective qualities at all.
