Soft Close door not woking. Common? DIY fix?

The Soft Close driver's door on my 2015 FFRR hasn't worked since I purchased the vehicle second-hand. Is this a common issue and is there an easy way to repair it?

I had same problem with mine when picked up
apparently they disable the drivers door in transit - there is a plug & socket in the rear by the spare wheel that needs plugging together again - did mine only took 2 mins
this is the link from rangerovers.net

last pictures show location - the plug is under the black tape

hope this helps various other LR's this one is still the best

Top tip - fixed! Hard to imagine that the previous owner went 4+ years without the soft close working and didn't take it to LR for repair Rolling Eyes
