United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover SE TDV8 Stornoway Grey
The weirdest thing

Since owning our 3.6 TDV8 (bought Feb 19) it’s made an annoying fluttering sound when it’s warmed up. I have long suspected it to be a blowing manifold although no-one can see any broken studs when inspected. Some days it’s really obvious to the point I couldn’t drive with the windows down as it sounded awful.

Since the lockdown it’s been parked up as I’ve been cycling to work. I started it up after around 3 weeks of being parked up and took it for a drive to work on a night shift and there was no fluttering noise. Next morning I drove it home and got it nice and warm before driving off the car park- still no noise. Had all windows down on the way back to see if I could hear the noise bouncing off buildings and walls as it always has done. Nothing.
I’ve driven it a couple of times since and it’s gone. It sounds like a TDV8 should now.

I’m just totally miffed as to what’s happened! 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded
