So I was pootling around the other day after some rain and drove through various roadside puddles.

Not quickly 20MPH max and not really deep either, but in every case the squeal of "fan belt" was heard for a few seconds (presumably until it dried out?)

Never had this issue on Discos and though ~RRs were like automotive ducks when it comes to wading...?

Anything I should be looking to check eg belt tensioner maybe?

Had my 4.4 V8 several years and it never squealed even when three foot under water, I'd guess you have something wrong under the bonnet... the adjusters can seize and you get a slack belt... if you do it, just change the lot, and the waterpump, while your in there...  Pete
