Is it okay for a Range River to have ‘patina’?

Just a thought - I keeping seeing the word ‘patina’ used in connection with classic Land Rovers and I was wondering if this would apply to my 54 plate L322 TD6? The door handles are showing their age and the mirrors are faded, but as it’s my only car I can’t really do anything that disables it for too long. Tempted to let it grow old gracefully, like its owner, although it gets service immaculately. Any thoughts? L322 TDV8 4.4 - current
L322 TD6 - sold
Disco 2 TD5 - sold
Suzuki Grand Vitara XL7 - sold
Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 - part ex'd
Hyundai Santa Fe 2.0 td - sold
Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 - sold

I bought a set of handles for my 54 plate and replaced them all in about an hour. It made the car look so much better.

Buy a 2nd hand set off eBay (I just sold a set of 4 for £10), take the handles off the assembly (you need to push a pin out) and get them re-painted (the paint doesn't have to match exactly because they will all look the same). Then swap them with the ones on the car. To change them, remove the door card (a few screws and some push clips), remove the handle assemblies (a couple of bolts and unclip the cable release), push the pins out of the handles with a vice/old socket and replace with the newly painted ones (you'll have already practiced this part taking the handles off the 2nd hand handle set).

It all sounds more daunting than it really is and makes such a difference to the car. Current:

I’m not so sure on this question. Obviously the Classic’s have been bobtailed and offloaded over the years, jacked up.... roll gaged...... less so the P38.... So they look ok with a bit of patina, but I think over the decades the RR has moved from “just” being a workhorse to also being more of something people aspire to and a fine luxury car. Now things that people aspire to don’t seem to look so good when they have dents, faded paint etc...... if you see what I mean..... it then just appears like you aren’t looking after it....

Who knows? Maybe in a few years the early cars will either be mint or off roaders....
