I got my new log book 4 days after I bought the car and after taking my plate off the old car, it was only 3 days to get the new V5.

Sounds like an excuse not to sell cars to me!

Wish it was an excuse but I do need to move some of my cars on.
My brother applied for a book in early April and he has still to get it.
I am waiting for 2 and need to apply for one more. Current cars

2016 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

Doing transactions online with the DVLA are all automated so the V5 is issued in a few days (change of keeper and do straight forward plate transfers) - but anything which has a paper application- eg sending in a V5 for change of keeper, plate transfers which need paperwork sent, applying for a new V5 etc - they have all been held since lockdown and are only now starting to be processed so there will be a big delay. Current Fleet:-
2018 Discovery 5 3.0 HSE
2021 Ford Ranger Wildtrack

Unfortunately these are not straightforward. I am getting them without a Logbook so DVLA needs to check the cars are not stolen before issuing a new one. Current cars

Where do you get them? Do you launder them for drug dealers or something?

I must admit that my imagination is lacking; who would sell a car without a V5, but who buys a car without a V5, not once but four times.

But yeah, let me know your rate and I might send some business your way. Try it out you know.

Laundered for the Police Rolling with laughter They steal them from unworthies and auction them off. The Police don't provide a logbook presumably because they aquire them at the side of the road and most people leave them at home.
I have no fear of buying without the V5 so long a the scource is secure.
I will leave it to you to decide if the Police are trustworthy or not Laughing Current cars

Nice. Yes police and customs impounded cars is the logical explanation now you mention it 😂
