Help. Split inter cooler hose

Help anyone know of a temporary fix for the inter cooler hose, I have a small split 25mm in length, I am currently in the southern France, the nearest dealer is some 200 miles away!
Appreciate any advice.
Thanks in advance.

Cut out split section with hacksaw and 'splint' with a scrounged section of exhaust pipe and X2 jubilee clips. Brought me back from Calabria to Devon no problems and no reduced speed!

That looks like a good tip

Pipe tape would be better - see this thread

Generally they are OK to drive with - if you floor it, you will get a ton of smoke and a warning, may go into shutdown mode, but turn off & restart and it should clear - so if there is a dealer en-route, you should be OK - assuming they have one in stock.

When do you come back ? Dan @ Duckworths can probably ship one to you

That's what happened to us with the tin tent down Cornwall. No real loss of power, but blotted everyone out at the rear.
Fitted a new one from Truro Land Rover, luckily they had one in stock and all well and good.
Has a downside to mpg though, 19 mpg from Colne to campsite outside Redruth (400 miles).
On the return leg 22 mpg, same journey and about same speeds. (brimmed tank no consumption meter).
Had to clear an airflow fault as well.

tape will work fine and dandy, duct tape, will be ok, the pipe repair tape is best though as it has some self amalgamating tape in the kit.

not sure that they have halfords in france... Rolling Eyes but find a brico depot for some duct tape and use that and it will get you home if you are gentle on the pedal. plenty of turns of tape and spread a good couple of inches from the hole in each direction to ensure a decent seal, the webbing the the tape will help stop it bursting.

oh and insulation/electrical tape doesnt work well. dont ask me how i know..... Whistle There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Norauto is similar to Halfords. Any quincaillerie (hardware shop) or supermarket will have duct tape. John

I have found that im still getting a fair bit of black smoke on kick down, will this clear itself now I have changed the hoses or do I have another problem?

I’ve ended up cleaning the inside of the split, and superglue, left over night and now 3-0 miles later still going? I really should get it fixed proper, that being said anybody know where the end goes at the bottom of the top hose on a tdv6?
