Peak District (Chesterfield)

Hi,
Next month I'm visiting Chesterfield for the week, wondered if there were any green lanes nearby, perhaps in the SE side of the Peaks??? Any locals here Smile

Well I live in Chesterfield, and I’ve no idea to be honest.

Last time I went off roading was Cannock Chase in my old classic.

There should be plenty of routes I imagine.

Some nice scenery and tracks if you head towards Castleton , Wynatt’s Pass etc., but I have no idea about access permission.

There are lots, but many have stone walls that will be very tight for an L322.
I've had the rock sliders on my Disco 2 rubbing both sides in the past. Was very glad I didn't have to reverse out - lol

There are many ggod ones though, are you a GLASS member, with access to their Trailwise software ? Paul,

It's a good 5 years since I sold my disco offroader but from memory the there aren't many 'legal' lanes left. The ones that are open are either boring dirt roads that provide no challenge whatsoever or proper lanes that will knock the hell out of your bodywork. I know there use to be a good lane at Two Dale's that had you sat at 45 degrees and you could tip the car and have it leant against the grass verge if you weren't careful.

Have a look around the back of Hope cement works if you really feel the need to get if tarmac but again check if they are legal because they are ever changing. Current
