5.0 supercharged engine removal

Hi all, has anybody had any experience of removing the 5.0 engine from car? Had timing chain snap so just trying to figure out the best way to pull motor out.

Geez that's bad news, sorry to hear.

It's not possible to separate the body off the chassis like people do on the RRS, but I have seen the body of an L322 lifted off its front subframe, engine and gearbox + suspension.

But don't think that's needed as the whole front comes off so that is what most people people do.

You can watch this series and get a good idea:

. Cheers, Greg

Sorry to hear that....

As Greg said, straight out the front is the easiest way...

Can I ask how many miles yours has done and and do you know if it has had the modified chain guides fitted?

Cheers and good luck Pete

Cheers lads, I’ll watch them videos tonight cheers.

It’s done 132k and as far as I’m aware they’ve never been touched. Full dealer history to 105k then I did oil and filter change every 6k just to play it safe. It had a slight rattle put was told it was the snout in the supercharger so unfortunately I didn’t investigate further. 100% my own doing to fair.
