Miss it!

Not sure if anyone remembers me or if anyone is still about on here when I posted......

Well it's been a good long while since I last post on here, thought I'd post to say hello and to those thinking of selling any of your pride and joys - DONT!

I truly miss my L322 and now start the watching of L405's. I keep toying whether or not its a good idea. One thing though is true - no other car compares to owning a Range Rover. I can't find anything else I like or that even comes close to my old RR VSE.

I used to know the type of faults an L322 expected and even the MPG of the models before I picked the 3.6 TDV8.

The L405 though - different beast Smile

Go on, you know you want to. Mr. Green
I've had 3 L322's and loved them all. But the L405 is on another level all together, I've never looked back since owning this one, and agree theres no other car gets close to a FFRR.

You only live once? I’d have to live 3 times to afford an L405.... Rolling with laughter

That said, they are getting cheaper....

Never even sat in one....

I sure miss mine I look out the window and it`s not there, did I make a mistake selling I sure DID?

Driving the wife`s VW GTD remapped to 230bhp is ok but not the same as a 4.4 twin turbo?

I’ve had mine since Jan 2016, and about now is the time I generally change.

I just can’t think of anything I’d rather have. Lovely place to be. Makes me smile every time I drive it.

I will check out your car if there are any photos!

Seems there are a lot that are 'blinged' and chrome overloaded a lot more than the L322 was!

Diesel Dave - I do want to but my bank says no at the moment. I keep looking at differences between the v6 and v8 for MPG, differences in spec etc. I think it took me about 2 years to buy my L322 in the end!!!

Should add the autobiography with a panoramic roof in green looks to be a Very Happy maker!!!

What a car Smile

I debated between the TDV6 and SDV8 when I picked my new (to me) L405. So glad I chose the V8. Owning a V8 D3 I am well used to the MPG figures.

I'm on my second L405 - the first was a V6, the current one is an SDV8. The V6 was superb, though it was an E5 (late 2014 registered) and my current car is an E6 (2017).
I regularly achieved 40+ MPG from the V6 - it obviously has two less cylinders to feed and though I've only had the V8 since March this year, continually achieving 35 MPG with more running about locally than long runs - Covid 19!
It definitely feels heavier than the V6, but still wafts along effortlessly.
Having previously had two L322's - a 4.4 BMW engine petrol and a 5.0SC, followed by a D4 run-out and then a D5 V6, the L405 is in a different league.
They're not cheap for sure, but the pleasure is priceless.
Keep your eye on the market!!

Mine has been on SORN since this virus malarky all started and I miss driving it every day, even though it's only sitting in the driveway. At least I can still see it every day. SWMBO has been grumbling about "why is that just sitting there, why don't you sell it?" but that's not even an option, never going to happen.

I did get a little chance to drive it today, had some garden patio slabs delivered so car was put to use ferrying the slabs from out front of the house to the back garden. Was nice to fire her up and made me remember why I bought it in the first place.

I've spent some time in a mate's L405 and it is, without question, a nicer place to be. But there's still something about the L322, it has way more character and if I'm honest, even if I could afford a 405, I'd buy one and keep the 322 as well. Good point on Stan! Stealth Stan Smile

I've been watching multiple reviews on the TD6 and I am amazed that some are saying they are getting 32-35mpg plus around 600 miles to the tank, my BMW gets 27 and about 350! Granted it's cheaper to fill up and way less a month to buy though.

Bigmamma - 'I regularly achieved 40+ MPG from the V6 - it obviously has two less cylinders to feed and though I've only had the V8 since March this year, continually achieving 35 MPG with more running about locally than long runs - Covid 19! '

Thats incredible - is that motorway driving or a mixture of motorway and city? I can't believe the figures, impressive.

Tugger - Take my advice never sell the l322!! If I think about it now I would have paid mine off completely now and only have to worry about repairs, tax and fuel.

The tax is also a factor in my decision as I objected to paying £500 for the 3.6 TDV8 !
