Running a Fridge

Hi

Will be going on holiday soon in my L405. In my D3, I have a dual battery system and use that to run my Engel Fridge. Can I plug my fridge into the accessory socket in the rear of the car without any problems? The fridge will be connected all of the time and the current draw is around 2.5A/h. It cycles on and off so will not be drawing that amount of current continuously. With my existing D44 Yellow Top in my D3, I can run the fridge on my second battery for about 3 days before I need to run the engine to recharge the second battery.

TIA

In mine the accessory socket in the rear shuts down after a few minutes. You'll probably need to get some wires directly from one of the batteries (luckily, both in the rear)... 2019 Vogue P400e

Thanks for that. Looks like I'll have to install another battery to run my fridge off.

Cheers

The rear socket is ignition controlled so will only be on when the car is running. This is to stop it flattening the battery while the car is parked.

I managed to do exactly that on my old 535d when camping with a cool box connected. Left it running over night..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
