Is obsolescence an issue?

Am thinking of keeping my MY11 for another 5 years. When it will be just short of 15 years.
At what point would JLR stop supporting L322s with spares? Is there any chance that in 5 years time some spares may cease to be available?

Interesting question but don't forget JLR make good margin on parts and unless the political landscape changes significantly here so that Rangies are in effect outlawed by further climate change regs, there will be thousands of these vehicles on the roads for decades to come.

Am sure there will be others on here better qualified to respond to your question. RR Vogue TDV8 Grey/Black

JLR only really make the bodies of their cars, most of the other parts, including trim, suspension, engines etc , all are made by external suppliers - who will be motivated to continue manufacture while aftermarket demand makes them profits.

Lots of other suppliers also want their "share" of the profits, so will also make any / many of the parts where demand is high.
You've only got to look at the quantity of parts & parts suppliers for some of the (much) older vehicles to realise if there's a demand, it will be made.
The biggest problem area is rare or unique parts where OE quantity was very low & therefore aftermarket demand will be even lower - eg special edition variants..
However, even some of these parts are no longer so difficult to replace as newer technology such as 3D printing & cheap CNC machining mean that even complex parts can be reproduced without specialist (& very expensive) tooling. Paul,

There is no reason not to keep an elderly FF running for a long time.

As previously said, when JLR make some parts obsolete other suppliers will fill the gaps.

Also, there are a number of specialist dismantlers around the country that specialise in RR's of every age (there is even one a mile from where I live).

So, if you have a good one keep it going until the day it really is no longer viable. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6

My experience of the main dealers is that they refuse to fit anything other than genuine JLR parts. Should I start using independents more often ? Thatched cottage is up the road ......

I’ve got a pair of 2002 P38 Range Rover’s and other then silly little things (none of which stop the car being used) virtually everything I’ve ordered from Duckworths recently has been available so I’d guess that most L322 parts will remain available.
