2005 L322 Replacement head unit confusion

Hi,

I’ve read quite a few posts in here about some incredible replacement head unit stories etc. But all I’ve done is confused myself?

I’ve got the OEM head unit and the separate touch screen nav screen with 4x4 info.(DVD Nav currently not working, disc not recognised)

Is there a suitable CarPlay system that can be used?

DonI need an electronics degree to fix it?

As usual, any help would be wonderful thanks.

John

If your FF is MY2005 to 2009 (your signature suggests it is) this is a possibilty for you.

I. and a number of others, have fitted it and am very pleased with it. It emulates your phone on the touch screen and does not require stripping out the head unit. All the installation is in the left rear cubbyhole in the boot.

Press of a button switches between it and the original system.

I use it with an iPhone.

The threads covering pre-2005 and post-2009 involve removing the head unit. AFAIK it is not an option with the 2005-2009 MOST units.
