Engine system fault - Intercooler?

Hi all, Newbie here. Had my FFRR HST (2008) for a year now, my brother drove it out to france for me as much cheaper in the UK. A brilliant car (had a D3 before) and had no trouble until now.

A couple of days ago, it went into limp mode with Engine sstem fault coming up on the display. Stopped, switched off, restarted and all ok for 20 km, then it did it again. Been getting progressively worse, maybe every 2 - 3 km.

Had a look on here, indicator was it could be the turbo actuators, but that looks like a right PITA, so checked the intercooler hoses and found 2 splits in the top RH side one.

Question is, would this cause the engine system fault? Ive had no CAN/OBD codes come up (did have an EGR code a couple of months ago but cancelled that and it hasnt come back - yet?).

Would a bit of gaffer tape temporarily fix it until new hoses can be delivered? (I live about 100km from nearest stealer).

Thanks for any help/advice
Mark

Thanks, just tried the gaffer tape fix and it seems to work - got a bit of an air whistle from somewhere though - dont know if these hoses are positive or negative pressure, shows how much I know about these modern new fangled cars ffs!

Where can i get silicon hoses from?
