Theft of catalytic convertors on the increase!

News item today suggests thefts of catalytic convertors is really on the increase, even in broad daylight!
Apparently 4x4 are favourite due to easy underneath access with big clearances, Making sure your rangy is left parked on lowest access setting is all we can do I guess? 2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.

I used to be indecisive and have a split personality... but we are ok now...I think?

Seen it done, even access height wouldn't keep them safe...

Caught on CCTV, they have an electric recip saw, lie down at the side of the car and cut through the downpipe and exhaust sections

Had to price the job up, a few quid of £3600 + labour Shocked
All for £120 worth of cats. The bastards should be lined up against a wall and given a bullet Evil or Very Mad

Previous owner of my vehicle had had the Cats stolen and some bodger garage had replaced them with incorrect ones. Kept regularly throwing a 'mixture to lean' message.

For the life of me I could not find the correct replacement Cats to buy from anywhere. I even investigated getting some built but was told that this option, although cheapest option, would make the FFRR exhaust noise louder. No-one wants a loud RR surely?

In the end it cost me north of £2000 at the local LR dealership to get the correct Cats fitted.

Painful to say the least. Sad

Has anyone fitted a CatClamp or similar to their L405?
