Rear Air spring

Gents (mostly),
I'd like your thoughts please, has anyone ever had a rear air spring fail on on a 322?
I don't recall any tales of rear springs failing, unlike the fronts which always seem to go at about 100K miles. I've got a 2011 TDV8 on 106K miles and recently had a rear shocker fail, I replaced both of them and have now had a front air shocker fail so am currently changing both of the complete front struts. I know that I could have just changed the air bag but I reckon at 106K miles the shockers will be past their best anyway.
So now I have almost completely renewed the suspension at an eyewatering cost (are adaptive dampers really that much better?) for a relative pittance I could also renew the rear air springs and hopefully buy some peace of mind that I wont have any suspension problems for a bit.
Is it worth it?

If you're keeping the car and want piece of mind, then it's understandable that you'de want to change the rears as well.

However, I've never had a rear air bag fail in over 100K of FF motoring across both cars (2002 L322 & 2011 L322). I too haven't heard much said about rear air bag failures on L322's

I think airbag wear can be down to how much grit accumulates in the folded over part of the bag. When I work on mine, I often fully inflate the bag with the wheel off and scrape away any abrasive crud that has accumulated.

Unless your car has seen lots of country roads, you'll probably find the rear air bags will be fine, but if it's been a lot of muddy lanes or off-road use, then rears could potentially suffer.

There appears to be very few rear air bags failed / changed on here from what I've seen in the last few years.
Save your money. If they eventually fail, they look easy / relatively cheap to change ! Paul,

" If they eventually fail, they look easy / relatively cheap to change !" That's pretty much my problem - sod's law says that if I don't change them now one will fail in January during a spell of blizzards and minus 10 temps when I wont want to fix it, however I'm still tempted to leave it as I can't remember anyone ever having a failure.
