Resonating dash noise

When I listen to certain music I get a rattle/resonating sound - I have narrowed it down to here. It does shake a bit if I grab it and if i flick it it will park a noise like a tuning fork.
Problem is it sound horrible. Is this normal and is there a way anyone has fixed this?

Some small strips of flashband (self adhesive roofing flashing material from Wickes or the like) will take the resonance out of that piece and deaden the sound. Only costs a few quid and saves buying proper sound deadening material for such a small area (the pucka stuff is much more expensive but only marginally better in most cases, you won't even notice the difference on such a small area)

Hope this helps 2011 Vogue SE Tdv8 FFRR

Cool I actually have a bit of dynamat in the shed so I will give that a whirl - any idea why so rusty in the care? Drover sides the same! Current stable:

No corrosion protection from the factory bud, as it's inside the cabin they know it shouldn't get wet so they save the expense of treating the steel. It would have looked like that by the time it left the dealership sadly - out of sight out of mind type engineering approach. A bit rubbish but the same as 99% of other automotive manufacturers to be honest, it'll still outlast the rest of the car though unless it gets wet. 2011 Vogue SE Tdv8 FFRR

Ps - dynamat should do the job great. As long as the bracket is still securely fixed in place, the mat will take out any resonance. Just check any securing bolts/rivets first to make sure it's fixed down properly 2011 Vogue SE Tdv8 FFRR

Good to know they all look that ropey.

Dynamat cut to shape was better but resonated maybe at lower freq now the thing is
It seems
To have a few mm play in it but there is nothing that seems loose...

Quick and dirty solution 2mm drill bit through the glove box carrier and into it with a small self tapper ... noise gone nice and secure now Current stable:
