ABS Fault FIXED!!!!!

Good morning all and thank you for allowing me to join.
I have a 2007 L322 that I have just replaced the steering rack and now have an issue with the NSF ABS ....i changed the sensor TWICE! ...still the same ... fitted a new drive shaft as the abs ring looked worn and out of shape ...still the same ... reset the steering angle ... still the same and now at a loss .....could be the wiring ......and that's where I'm about to look now.. had live data via Hawkeye and reads the wheel speed up until about 15mph then reads zero and the fault appears

But any ideas or help would be gratefully appreciated TIA

Well the problem still exists... so today im checking the continuity of the wires from the abs sensors to the ABS control module ..to eliminate the possibility of a bad connection or broken/damaged wires ...wish me luck

I forgot to mention that i have a speed sensor 'A' fault on the transmission. Which i presume is a knock on effect from the NSF abs fault

Are you 100% certain that you fiited the correct sensor, they change over different years/models

continuity on the ABS sensor wires to the ABS control module is good ...

Could the tracking be out and have an adverse effect on the ABS reading?

With a multimeter check out the resistance on the speed sensor and compare against the opposite one.
Fronts and rears may be different.

Just to make sure it isn't a Censored or incompatible sensor, been there myself...

At least you can now discount the possibility of a duff or wrong sensor now

Good luck

Is it a genuine sensor you’ve fitted? I only ask as I’ve had the wires round the wrong way on a Ford Focus rs one , or can you swap over left to right to try to eliminate other components.

OK fixed!!!! I changed the wheel bearing and inner hub assembly.... the small brass tube in the ABS sensor (the tube the fixing bolt goes through to secure the sensor) was protruding so i took a file to it just to make it all level .... just ran it round the block and no more faults!!!!

hope this post goes some way to help others in similar situations...David
