United States 2009 Range Rover Autobiography 4.2 SC V8 Bournville
Finally found my Range Rover!

Greetings from the West Coast of the USA!

I've spent the last 6-1/2 months scouring the web for my Range Rover. After researching for a pretty long time I narrowed my search down to a 2009 L322 Supercharged or, even better, the Autobiography. The exterior color wasn't nearly as important to me as having one of the lighter color interiors. My wife prefers dark color interiors but I'm the exact opposite.

I did find a couple that after an independent mechanic checked it over turned out to be a bucket of trouble. Paying for the pre-sale inspections was money well spent! One inspection was $250 USD and the other was $200 USD and both saved me thousands on repairs!

Then I finally saw an ad at 10am for what quickly became my car; a 2009 L322 Autobiography with a Bournville exterior and a Parchment interior. Best of all, it only had 34,215 original miles on it! It was being sold by a major Land Rover dealership (Penske automotive) so I had to trust them and skipped the pre-sale inspection. In the end, it turned out OK.

I saw the ad at about 10am here in California (San Francisco/Bay Area). By noon I was at the airport waiting for my flight to Phoenix, Arizona. By 4:30pm I was at the dealership and I was driving off the lot by about 7:30pm.

Spent the night in Scottsdale and drove the 12 hours home the next day.

The car looks and drives fantastic but it does have a few issues that I'm working on resolving. The radio/navigation display has a flickering (working with the dealer to get this fixed), it's missing the navigation DVD, a torn CV boot and a handful of other minor issues.

I've already posted a few questions and will certainly be posting more as I learn more about my new ride!

Anyway, it's great to finally have my car and to now be a participating member of this forum!

Larry.

That looks lovely. Welcome. Seems more like ivory interior, but that might just be the pics.

It very well could be Ivory. As far as I can see, there are no interior codes anywhere on the car and I don't have the original Monroney so I'm not actually sure! I called the dealership that sold the car when it was new but they said they can't (or won't) print a copy of it. I'd actually like to know the real color myself!

Thanks,

Looks like ivory with the extended cherry wood trim, which is what I had in my L322. Bourneville is a stunning colour, had it on my second RRS. That had an oatmeal interior.

Welcome to the club Larry, lovely looking car!

Top marks on the effort for tracking it down - being on a plane the same day and a 12 hour drive back is the equivalent of me crossing 2 or 3 countries here in Europe Rolling with laughter

Nice looking car. Bourneville is a great colour, much more interesting than Black.

Plenty of Nav DVDs around on the net, for not a lot of money, CV boot can be a pain as the splines can seize in the hi. On the drive shaft, hopefully it can be sorted, with the dry climate out there I doubt that will be an issue! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Just to be clear, I spent the night in Scottsdale and drove home the following day. There's no chance I would have the energy to have driven home that night! I would have been asleep at the wheel within minutes after setting the cruse control Thud.

Thanks!

mjdronfield,

I got my build information from Land Rover and you are correct. It's an Ivory interior! So I learned something new about my Range Rover today!

Thanks!

Nice one. I pretty much knew it was ivory, as that’s same as mine. Not ideal if you have kids or dogs 🤣. I keep wet wipes in the car for times of panic....
