Not strong enough! Makes you nostalgic for the days when you could open a car with any old bit of metal or a tennis ball. Now they break into your house, take the car and empty the house while they're at it. Double whammy! RRUK is right though - in a harsh but fair sort of way! ![]() I wonder if you can claim for the car on the house insurance as the keys were nicked in a break in? ![]() ![]() |

No Tracker? When I insured mine, I had to have a tracking device fitted. Every insurance company I rang requested this. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded |

I don't think it brought the cost down, but the insurers reckoned it needed to be fitted, due to the high numbers of 4x4s that go missing and get shipped abroad. They cited the range rover, X5 and the merc ML as the top three on the thieves list. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded |

No insurance company I dealt with required a tracker for my FFRR either, which surprised me. Got one on my other car, more for peace of mind, however, it also has a Vecta Mangusta immobiliser which if I remember correctly has 15-18 identical black wires which are linked into the wiring loom and basically, without the Vecta key, the car cannot be started. If stolen, the wiring looms would have to be replaced as the immobiliser circuit boards are bonded to the inside of the outer casing and hence cutting it open effectively breaks it. Don't know how good the FFRR immobiliser is in comparison. Steve
