Would anyone be able to tell me what the dipstick looking thing is with the curved arrow on the top next to the oil filler on the SDV8 engine

I believe that’s where they extract the oil, when doing an oil change. Might be wrong.... that could be the other side.....

Oil extraction tube for engine oil. A vacuum pump attaches there after the cap is removed by pressing down and turning anticlockwise.
Doing mine at weekend as a mid-service change....  2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
New Defender D300 90 on order so "Rory" will be going to a new home....!
