What tyre sizes can I use?

I currently have my winter wheels and tyres on my L405. Tyre size is 255/55 R20.

I don't think I want to go back to my normal 22" summer wheels as the car rides much better on the 20's, as such I will eventually want to put some summer tyres on my 20" wheels.

Using my reg plate on one of the online quote services brings up either:

245/45 20W Front & Rear | Load Index 103
245/45 20 V Front & Rear | Load Index 99
255/55 20 W Front & Rear | Load Index 110
275/40 Z20 Y Front & Rear | Load Index 106 | Racing fitment

Would any of these sizes fit on my wheels (20" STYLE 5002, 5 SPLIT-SPOKE LR037745)?

It may be a really silly question but my reason for asking is that using one of the online calculators, the different sizes seem to make quite a big difference to the speedo / rolling diameter etc.

Any input would be MUCH appreciated!

Many thanks in advance. - Corris Grey 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8

255/55./20 is the right size.

Anything other than that (in a 20) would count as a modification & should be declared to your insurance company.

275 would work - that's the width used for the 21 & 22's, so more a case of getting ht e aspect ratio right.

245 would be narrower than the minimum approved spec.....

Thank you!

I've just been and had a look at the tyre pressure plate on the car which seems to suggest that 255/55 is the only way to go if running 20's. Will stick at those then Smile - Corris Grey 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8

Your comment made me check - I already had a photo so no physical effort required - and realised that there is a 235 option @ 19" - I hadn't realised they went that narrow

255/55/20 is right though - unless there was a compelling reason (likely price) I wouldn't deviate.

Price was the main reason for looking at other sizes. I had only looked at the "Quick Install" company, and the prices for the 255/55's seemed substantially higher than for the other ones.

However I have now expanded my search and found many different suppliers who are more in line with price for the correct size so it's really become a non-issue. Appreciate the input greatly though and I feel like I've learned something so I suppose today hasn't totally gone to waste! Laughing - Corris Grey 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8

Oponeo, Camskill & Black Circles all worth a look - and yield different results on different t days - I've bought from all 3 Thumbs Up

Somewhat depends on fitting - I have a local guy that does them at a reasonable rate, so it's always a delivered only price for me.

Which 19” actually fits the 405?

235 is a bit skinny, but I’ve got some 255/60’s in winter guise which might come in useful but they are on 322 19” which won’t fit. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
