2018 suspension knock

Hi guys first post from me, I’ve been over on the Defender 2 forum for some years but the defender has gone and been replaced with a 4.4 Ab 2018 enough preamble does the front suspension rumble/knock on poor round surfaces extend to this year, I was under the impression all that was ironed out in 2015.

Welcome aboard!

From a Defender to a Range Rover? So not that much of a noticeable difference then? 🤣

I’m running a majestic 2005 TD6 with 109,000 on the clock and I don’t get any rumbling or knocking.....

Does that answer your question?

Jim

An 18MY on average mileage shouldn’t be showing signs of suspension fatigue. You’ve got a couple of years before all that starts Neutral

Are you running 22’’ wheels? Because of their size and relative low profile they can be a bit ‘crashy’ over bumps.
I used 21” wheels for a while and thought the ride more compliant. Unfortunately I prefer the styles of the 22” so have to compromise in that department.

Very good point re the wheel size I am on 21 inch so could be ruled out it’s only covered 13k and comparing it to my Dailey a 15 year old disco3 purchased new by me it’s a little disappointing.
A trip back to the dealers me thinks.

Found the same on my 2016, and it is noticeably crashier than my D4 Think it’s somewhat down to the wheels. Could be bush related but I would doubt it at that age and mileage. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Where in lincs are you? Not too far from Spalding here. Roads are absolutely abysmal but can’t say I’ve noticed any knocking / rumbling under normal circumstances. When I did have a slight knock it turned out to be worn suspension bushes (Replaced under warranty). - Corris Grey 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8

I’m a little further north in scunthorpe, I didn’t get the exact detail of which bush it was I was waiting until it goes in for the replacement but thinking it was the anti roll bar bushes which is a little disappointing for 13k miles.

They are what wears, mine were 35k old and gone. Moved round the bar really easily.

They are cheap tho, and doable if you fancy. But it shouldn’t be more than £30 and an hours labour.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks monkey funnily enough I’m replacing them on my disco3 this coming weekend 15 years old and the first set I’ve gone crazy and bought the drop links as well.
