windscreen wipers not working after the freeze - SORTED

I like many others opened the bonnet when the snow was around and wrecked the the under bonnet foam Big Cry

but the main problem is that the windscreen wipers are are not working ?
I can set the wipers to winter mode in the service menu on the dash and the wipers go across the screen and back and set about 10 inches up the screen
this proves the motor is OK but no response at all when using the stalk on the steering column ?

connected the iiDtool it detailed a few faults but nothing relating to the wipers ( well I don't think it did) reset all faults and it now shows no faults at all?

anyone got any idea what the problem could be or what to check ? various other LR's this one is still the best

Well I have come to the conclusion I am a numpty Embarassed

after reading the user manual I noticed it mentioned that the wipers do not operate if either of the front doors are open !!

I couldn't have been that stupid could I ? well I tried it and sure enough I must have had the door open the 10 times I tried them

They work perfectly with the door shut
sorry for wasting anyone's time, but it had me worried for a least a week

now just got to sort out all the knackered foam Rolling Eyes various other LR's this one is still the best
