Brake pads - Visual wear check

Hi all,

Just had the Brake Pad warning message come on for my - 2012 4.4TDV8
How do I know if it’s for Front or Rear Pads ?

I’ve had a visual look, but can’t see and am not familiar with how they would look when worn. Below are the pictures 1) Front, 2) Rear

1) Front

2) Rear

If I had to guess I would say front but both look like they need changing, your front discs look rather worn as well, a pretty good lip round the edge...

Robin at Duckworths will give you a good deal on genuine parts if you want to do it yourself... Thumbs Up Pete

It could just be road detritus but the marks on the wheel make it look like your front hub maybe leaking..... Pete

I would say it is the rear's they are looking low.
Hard to tell i think there is still a bit of meat on the fronts but agree consider changing disc's when you do the fronts.
As for genuine LR?? personally i think they are over priced there are other good options out there that are as good and lots cheaper. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

Quick tip, nearly two years ago changed all discs / pads and all hand brake parts for under £300, waited till Euro car parts had one of their holiday sales, all parts were Pagid, better than original and discs do not rust.
If I have broken the rules I apologise in advance, have not had time to read all the rules small print yet!

The wear sensors are on the inner pad so this is what you need to look at and also there are only sensors on the NSF brake and OSR so look at the inner pad on these wheels 2010 3.6TDV8 Stornoway Grey/ Black interior - gone
