Am i doing something wrong here?

i thought if you wanted to check oil level and it says "Not Available" if you clicked the cruise cancel button twice within a second it will let you check?

NB...The bonnet lid has to be open for the quick reset to work.

Does the delay after stopping the engine not allow the oil level to settle giving a more accurate reading though?

worked like a charm.
the reason is i added just shy of 9l of oil (my 11 year old was filling bless her) and cold it was on max. so i started the car let it settle and it was still max. I wanted it to be 3/4 to allow for it hitting max temp. so i pumped some out and wanted to quickly check. i only took less that 1/4 L out to get the desired level.
