Why only drives side has air deflector?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know why only the drives side windshield wiper has the air deflector?

Quote:

The driver's side blade is fitted with an aerofoil, which presses the blade onto the windscreen at high speed, improving the wiper performance.

Why not fit it to both sides? It's not like that one piece of plastic would cost to much to install one more.

Thanks!

I have often wondered the same. The conclusion I reached is that it is less important for the passenger to see out the front! Laughing Bish.

And if you want to change the wiper clip on the drivers side you have to buy the whole arm because the clip is built into the spoiler. £80 a pop!! Passenger side uses normal cheapo clip.

Kevinp,

It looks like the clip is available on it's own.

Hi Larry. I bought 2 clips. Passenger side no problem. Drivers side is moulded into the spoiler. You could use the new clip without the spoiler but the blade would not then have the blade supports that are part of the spoiler. I will try and take a photo to show what I mean.
