L405 roof airseal

I took my vehicle to a dealer in order to have roof rails fitted however the fitter noticed some damage which they believe was caused by mice.
The LR warranty does not cover rodent damage but Iā€™m not sure this is the cause. The seal has not perished but I will investigate further in detail today as I would expect to see droppings possibly below the seal.
This car is kept outside in my brief ownership.
Has anyone seen this issue before and what other possible causes there may be as obviously I want this fixed šŸ˜Š

Hi. I have exactly the same. So these mice must only eat at the same spots ???

My sun roof is running really slowing so I suspect bits of the rubber are in the way. Weather not been good enough to look into yet but seeing yours suggests this may be more than a one off. Let me know as you progress with the fix and I will likewise. 2013 L405 AB 4.4SDV8 Luxor/Ivory, 2007 Vogue TDV8 Epson Green/Sand, 2008 Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue/Sand, 2003 Vogue 4.4 LPG Epsom Green/Sage, 1998 Vogue SE 4.6 LPG Epsom Green/Cream

Mine has started to go on both sides on the rear section in the same place but isn't as bad as this.

I looked at workshop manual and was going to do mine when the weather gets better. Could the damage be birds rather than mice given the height? I've seen magpies rip rubber trim of the top of a windscreen.

It is rather a coincidence. If everybody reading these post could check their vehicles and we get a stack of posts with pics it would bolster a case if anyone has a warranty with JLR?
There appears to be the trim around the glass sunroof and my affected one is in a u shaped channel which butts up to this on the glass.
I have asked Marshall LR Peterborough to get me a price on this. TBA
