Hi all. When I set my heater fbh to come on in morning it appears to run and do everything it should, however if I leave this setting and the next morning it is actually not that cold outside, it seems to start cycle and about 10mins in it sets the car alarm off. Really strange doesn't do it when it's super cold out. Any ideas.

Battery

Not sure to be honest, but if it was a duff battery, then I would imagine the colder it is, the more the problem would occur.

I had a period where my alarm was periodically going off, and it did seem to be around the same time of day. I disconnected this switch and my alarm has not gone off since:

It is located o/s under the bonnet. It took less than 1 minute to located and disconnect.

I wouldn't have thought it would be a low battery but could be wrong. I took mine to the garage to have some work done I know what a surprise for such a reliable car. I figured that they must of shunted it around a bit the week it was there as when I got it back it was due to be a frosty morning so I set the time heat. went out to a nicely defrosted car all smug only to fined it didn't have enough power to crank the engine over fully. one jump start later and a dive into London and it was all back to normal.

According to the manual for the auxiliary heater:




Might be worth checking your battery level when it happens.

Are you sure these values are correct I would suggest they should be the other way round

I'd tend to go with the battery being low, the FBH will be shutdown if it's not up to par. Tell us what your car use is like, short runs, intermittent use etc. Can you check the voltage before and during the FBH use? And as SC says, have a look at the bonnet switch, it's caused others problems by being finiky to heat/cold cycles on the bonnet setting it off if it's close to its trigger setting. Cheers
