I do no more than 10k miles in any year and this last one only about 7k. My FFRR is used infrequently, perhaps once every 10 days but often less frequently and in most cases will be for a decent journey, so 30 plus miles, but invariably longer. Same with my previous FFRR and the two RRSs I had before. Never had a problem with DPFs, condensation etc. The L322 had issues with a diesel pump and an egr valve, but they’re quite common no matter what your mileage pattern. So long is you give your car regular long runs, I wouldn’t worry unduly.

Thanks Andy! I really think this year I’ll be unlikely to do more than 3K and it could be up to 2 weeks between use. Looks like provided I give it a decent run when I do use it (and fill her up with quality fuel) low mileage use shouldn’t necessarily cause issues for the car. L405 4.4 AB Loire Blue

Think I did 2000miles last year (including one big trip of about 500 miles). No real hassles with mine, every couple of weeks I make an effort and drive up and down motorways/A roads(or let wifey use it) just to get everything up to temp etc.

My car can go for weeks not being used, but only ever has premium fuel put in it (usually Shell V Power) and very rarely gets driven less than 30 miles in any one journey. A regular long run seems to keep things in shape based on my ownership experience.

It just doesn’t make sense to pay for premium fuel if using a fuel additive which is more sophisticated than the additives in premium fuel. The additives are carefully calibrated and adding them to premium fuel could result in mis-calibration affecting the benefits, I would guess.
