2018/2019 model years

I’m in the market for a FFRR. I have noticed the 19MY cars have a smoother slightly more powerful engine. I also noticed they have Range Rover written on the front callipers.

Does anyone know what the engine differences are ?

MY2019 saw the introduction of the SDV6 with 275 bhp / 625 torque, up from the TDV6 258bhp / 600.

So I am guessing you have been trying the 3 litre diesels... L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Yes I have. But unbeknown to me. I tried a 4.4 yesterday 2019MY. Super impressed with the comfort and smoothness. The pre 2018 are cars are just rubbish in comparison. The new engines 2018 onwards in the facelift just feel like much better cars than the older models. Even the 2017 widescreen facelift cars feel heavy and soggy.

Can’t wait for the new shape later this year.

In conclusion I would love a 4.4 2019 Autobiography with rear entertainment. Problem is the 3.0cars are more abundant.

I’d suggest dropping the rear entertainment requirement and just get an iPad or two for your rear seat passengers. This would massively open up the number of used options. I appreciate these are more 3.0 than 4.4, but only cos people are cheapskates! Rolling with laughter Shocked L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

I dropped the rear entertainment on my 2016 FFRR AB. Massively regretted it afterwards. This time I will just wait for one with it.

Not going to argue with you about a 4.4 MY19 AB being the best!

I had rear screens in my 7 series but I never went in the back and the kids are spoilt enough with electric heated/ventilated seats! I specifically didn’t want them anyway, as we’ve got a baby seat to fit in the back and I didn’t want a LWB. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I didn’t spec rear entertainment because the screens really incumber the rear space on SWB. On LWB it’s a no-brainier, perhaps. If headrest RSE was an option I may have specced it, but it was not.

I’d be interested to hear more about the regrets! It’s just a crappy low res screen.... and that’s before it ages during the life of the vehicle. iPads are for Christmas, an annual opportunity to upgrade should you wish! L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

On 18 and 19 MY cars you can get the 8” screens. LWB gets 10” screens as standard. I nearly bought an 18MY AB this week with 10” screens but as you all rightly point out, the screen just sticks out at you.

We tend to chat, laugh, sing with our children. Been on many car holidays all across Europe, US and Australia. Rear entertainment to me is the least important of all the options. Not least being so far away from such a small screen, yuk. I've got it again in my current car, never been used, nobody is asking for it to be used either...

True! The click and go tables (and also the Dometic armrest cooler, not the same overpriced one from LR) are so far the best accessories for long trips...

same here Cayman, just looks so obtrusive and out of place in an otherwise classy cabin. One of the reasons I didn't buy a 5.0 SC I had my eye on. Rear entertainment? it's what ipads are for. L405 4.4 AB Loire Blue
