Intermittent side step deployment

Well the passenger side step starts to deploy but immediately goes back. Obviously this doesn't really bother me but SWMBO creates a constant wining noise from the passenger seat which does bother me. Has anyone else had this problem with the steps is there any maintenance/adjustment I can do?

I've fixed the wining from the passenger seat with a bit of duct tape - as if Confused Geoff

Had the same on mine last week, sprayed some lubricating oil into the four moving pivot points at each bracket & now all ok. I believe they’re designed so if they sense any resistance when moving they return to their starting position.

I got under mine today and sprayed oil on the pivot points but I noticed that one of the brackets has broken and has a bit missing. I think the replacement part is LR004810 but before I buy one was wondering if anyone has a spare lying about? I think (but cant prove) that the tyre fitting monkeys broke the bracket when jacking. It's the drivers side front, funnily enough the steps work fine on that side.

Anyone got any thoughts or opinions as to what I should do? I guess I could just manage and use access height and not step on the step, but I'll forget !! and I'll need to change the wheel myself sometime. I even took a photo:

Yes I am in touch with a guy who has one for 90 quid but I think in will need to add something for postage as he is in London.

I'll be switching off in the morning. Geoff

I did buy the one for £90 plus postage - would have been a bargain but it was for the deployable steps on an L322 p/n LR004810 but its for an L322 - doh! Geoff
