Door won’t shut

My 2014 405 has just had its first fault since. Ownership!
My grandson shut the passenger door (not hard or slammed) and it would not shut. I tried several times and it looks like the plastic mechanism has failed?

Any suggestions

Has the latch just tripped over - if so then a screw driver will reopen the latch and the door will close normally

I've had this on a rear door. Needed a new latch.

This looks a big job and I’m guessing a new latch is expensive.

Mine was done under warranty. First visit they "reprogrammed" the locks. Second visit they replaced the lock. It is going in again this week as it still only opens from the outside.

Well a big thank you to Cam Tech Craig (bottle of something nice on its way) as this was a big job. Apparently it’s a fairly common fault. The new latch was about £120 and a real pain to fit.
Door card has to come out, door handle off and all the cables and levers transfer from the old unit to the new on.
Thanks again Craig!
