United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Waitomo Grey

Ooops! may have given a bum steer. I was referring to the table I looked up for mine

...which is of course for 2017MY

Still no idea of the reason for any difference to other models. Mike - MPx

Its lower so wont be as good at extreme off roading.

Shocked

I hadn't realised that. As someone who does regularly drive off road that would be a serious negative.

You regularly do extreme off roading in your FF?? I regularly drive (and tow) off road, but its fields and tracks - not boulders, mountains, or water splashes. Its a proper FF and still does amazing things, but a few mm lower so not quite so amazing...

No idea why the tow capacity is limited.

I switched from D3/4's to a used FFRR and it has the same all round use. Pre-Covid that meant venturing off road to some extent at least weekly, sometimes more. I do sometimes encounter some very deep ruts off road, caused by farm and military vehicles, so a few mm could make a difference. Albeit only occasionally. Thumbs Up

Wow, you really must take it right on the edge of a few mm makes a difference. You are definitely braver than me.

Saying that, even in my army supplied G wagon it was never a concern to be honest. But fair enough if it makes a difference then don’t get one. 👍

When I bought my FFRR it was 2.5 years old, with 20.5k miles on the clock and cost me less than I had paid for my last new D4 Landmark.

To me it’s a tool for work and pleasure. If I didn’t regular use the off-road capability of a Land Rover I wouldn’t own one.

Will a few mm less ground clearance make a big difference? The vast majority of the time no, but if just once it results in underbody damage, getting stuck or causing water damage, that’s once too often.

I don’t know what I’ll replace it with, it is certainly not a given that it will be a newer model FFRR though. Thumbs Up

I love mine! With the SVO paint, I got a full clear bra for the entire car! Now I feel much better.
