Anyone replaced supercharged silence with sport silencers?

Only reason I ask is they are much smaller so I think you’d get some decent volume out of them?

I’d be curious what it sounds like as I recently got a pair - ive out them in the for sale area if anyone fancies a project Current stable:

2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:

I didn't realise they did a sports exhaust for the L322. Then I looked in the for sale section and now realise you mean silencers from a totally different car the L320 Sport.

No I haven't had silencers from the L320 Sport on it, but I've had much smaller silencers and the drone gets really bad in a FFRR. So bad I had to go bigger as it was too loud and obnoxious. But also don't forget the rest of the system. It will sound crap if you do just the back part...

I’ve got the center section for sale as well 😂 that would need some heavy modifications though

On the topic of the rest of the exhaust does taking the Center silencers on the l322 make much difference volume wise ? Current stable:

Oh yes. That awakens the kraken Wink Bypass both sections and its loud. Lovely but loud, very loud. Luckily I’ve got a remote control on mine to enable and disable the section Smile

Oh dear. That sounds horrible and raspy 😬 What ever happened there has removed all lower frequencies.

So you have kept the rear standard supercharged box and replaced the center silk Evers with some that contain a bypass valve?

Haylands - guessing that is straight pipes all the way from the cats? Also different engine so hopefully would t be like that Current stable:

It’s a custom system on mine. The back box was also removed as the stock system is too quiet. But on their first go there was too much drone in the interior despite it sounding spot on from the outside. So they put slightly bigger back boxes on. The kind they normally use for higher temperature car and go on like their 1500 horse power supra vmax 200 car. That provides a really nice balance.

I’ve now done about 7K miles and I must admit it had gotten a fair bit louder, and even deeper. It’s quite mean sounding.

The valves are 3.5” electronic valves with Bluetooth control. I didn’t want it to be pressure based as I wanted to control it when it opens and closes. And yes they are behind the cars but before the midsection.

It’s crazy 😜 and not tor the faint hearted. But still not as loud as my friends Mustang exhaust. I have them closed most of the time, so a little extravagant but hey ho. It’s a bit of fun 🤣 and definitely still quieter than a diesel 👿🥰

Like the idea of the bluetooth controlled valves, so it's only loud at times. Good idea.

Some years back my daily driver was a legal Whistle Capri road / track car. X-pack 3.1,stage 3, Cologne style.
I had custom 2.5 inch free flow manifolds and systems made, each bank having one 'silencer' The sound was awesome Very Happy , BUT, to say my neighbours were not happy was the understatement of the year. If I got home late at night, I had to cut the engine and coast to my house, it was that or windows opening and various comments made as to my parentage. Rolling with laughter

Edit, love the sound of that BMW Thumbs Up

No. Just the rear box removed to prevent it getting smashed off road... didn't stay like it long... far too loud...

And yes a different engine but it shows how much the original system quietens the exhaust... Thumbs Up Pete
