Transferbox chain ?

Hi...

Friends L322 Td6 auto MY2004 has an issue.

When accelerating with a good ammount of throttle, he experiences vibrations and "banging" or "rattling" sound from the area under the cubbybox ....

Does the L322 transferbox have the same issue as the P38 had? Chain stretching over time and due to lack of a tensioner eventualt skipping teeth when it needs to work?

I wouldn’t say that the NV225 transfer box has a reputation for chain wear but, of course, it’s possible if the vehicle has had a hard life/high mileage. You may be able to get a feel for how worn it is by poking a screwdriver through the drain plug hole and lifting the chain off the sprocket.

Spares are available from JPAT here in the UK.
