Control arms: OEM, Delphi or MOOG? Perhaps some other brand?

Hi Everyone,

Looks like I need to replace the front lower rearward (the curved one) control arms on my 2009 AB. My current ones only have about 45K miles but are 12 years old. It's this control arm: https://parts.landroveroflivermore.com/oem...m-lr018343

I tend to buy OEM parts unless the aftermarket units are better. My mechanic says that for this part the OEM one isn't very good and recommends MOOG instead. I've seen other posts here that suggest that I should opt for Delphi parts over OEM. Some of those posts refer to Delphi as "Good value."

I'm not really interested in "value" so much as quality.

So, disregarding price, what brand would others here recommend as the best quality; OEM, Delphi, MOOG or perhaps some other brand that I've left off? I don't need it for hard-core off road use but want one that won't wear out after 45K miles.

Thanks in advance!

We were using Delphi, which are a decent brand, but have since moved to Lemforder, who are OEM supplier to JLR Thumbs Up

Moog I believe is the cheapest/nastiest of parts sir... If it were mine I would stick with JLR genuine Thumbs Up

Lemforder if you need to go OEM, otherwise stick with LR. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Quick update: I ordered the Lemforder parts.

Since I'm in the process of moving my tools are in a total disarray so I'll have my local shop do the work. I'll let you know if I run into any issues!

Thanks for the advise!

Lemforder are a ZF brand, and much of the front end of some 322s are Lemforder. the original lower arms which I took off my 2012 were lemforder, and so were the arb drop links. Im not sure if the large curved control arms were but the ball joints on the end of them were. so pretty much all of the front end of my old 322 was replaced like for like with Lemforder, even down to some the colour of the retaining rings which hold on the rubbers..... I'm going to be replacing a bunch of stuff and the SIDEM brand from Belgium keeps showing up in my searches. That's not one that we usually see here in the US so I don't k now anything about them. Any of our Euro friends have an opinion?

Not heard of them.

As a price comparison the OEM lemforder arms on AUTODOC are £38 and the sidem ones are £59, if it were me I’d be going Lemforder as in EU they are cheaper. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Here they are exactly half the price of Lemforder which is way more than double the price you quoted, they are $120 each.
