Not having auto hold is something that still annoys me regularly, after nearly a year with the car.

On mine it sort of works, did you try pulling the handbrake and then release the pedal? A press on the accelerator when needed releases the brake... 2019 Vogue P400e

That’s just putting the handbrake on rather than autohold, but thank you Thumbs Up MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Chalky,

Was there a reason why you chose the D300 over the D350?

Yes, because I thought if you're going to have a diesel then have a smaller engine. But that's just me.

My D4's were all 3.0 diesels and my last 2018 FF was a 3.0. All the cars have done whatever I want them to do (I don't tow), but go off road shootin' & Fishin'. The last car was as smooth as silk on long runs, gives good acceleration and mph and I've never had any trouble from any of them. The latest D300 is supposed to be even better and it's £6k cheaper than the D350. I suppose it's the reason I buy a VSE over the AB, I just don't need anything else.

Lastly, Autocar on test said this....

"Land Rover's new 'Ingenium' diesel straight six is like the icing on a cake that's been in the making since 2012, and it's clearly the pick of the car's engine lineup for anyone who pays for their own fuel (but who perhaps doesn't pay company car tax)." All LR cars from 1984

Thanks, I'm with you on the VSE v AB, not really any grumbles on the cars either, even on my P38's.

Looking at changing mine and I'm struggling to chose between P400 or D350, I don't cover huge mileages anymore. I've seen a couple of reviews on the P400 and it doesn't sound as harsh as the old V6 3.0 S/C but would consider a D350 as well.

I was going to look at the P400 as well but because of lockdown was unable to test drive it. I looked at reviews and decided that because some said the engine was not as smooth, less torque and noisier at times I decided to stick with the diesel.

They're all good engines I'm sure. All LR cars from 1984

Collected my D300 VSE today from Solihull and can report that having driven it back (108miles) the engine is superb, very quiet, very pokey and no lag like the older engines. Overtaking is very quick, so I think I made the right choice.

I also drove the Jungle Track at Solihull in a D350 and to be honest it did not feel any more powerful, but I would say that wouldn't I? The people I talked to reckon the D300 is the most popular at present for rural drivers (unless they are towing). Great to be back behind the wheel of a FFRR

Oh, one other thing, I said that I wished I could bottle the smell of a new Range Rover and the LR chap said Halfords sell an essence made by Meguiars which is virtually the same smell as a new car, so that's a bonus Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Wink All LR cars from 1984

Glad to hear you like it Chalky, I gave up in the end and went down the Petrol route, I no longer cover a huge amount of miles in a year, but who does at the moment.

Pleased to hear you like it!

You wouldn’t notice the extra power on the jungle track.... Having had a quick look at the latest price list I don’t think you get the anti roll with the 350, it’s only for the V8s so it’s a lot of extra money for 50hp. Not having the anti-roll would be a deal breaker for me. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid
