The dashboard reads 24-29mpg. I reset it from time to time.

But... calculating it backwards from the pump:

Filled to brim 12th April. Mileage 35567
Filled to brim 17th May. Mileage 35812. = 245 miles. £90.42 = 12.75 gallons (£7.09/gallon) = 19.2mpg
Filled to brim 26th May. Mileage 36090. = 278 miles. £92.95 = 13.11 gallons (£7.09/gallon) = 21.2mpg


Anyone have any ideas?

V Power diesel here is about £7.02 a gallon, which would put you at 18 mpg. That’s 10% better for you….

That sounds really low to me. I don’t check mine, mainly as I can’t figure out the over complicated 3 averages thing that the computer does.

Should be doing about 30mpg on the combined cycle. So would expect more than that.

But... as I say... I don’t know my real figures, so I might be talking rubbish....

Yeah that’s low! I recently posted about getting 400 miles to a tank which I thought was low - many posts on here averaging 30ish 1995 4.6 v8, green/tan (long gone)

I’m averaging about 25mpg but short trips circa 8 to 10 miles that’s on normal unleaded generally BP. Not helped by hills around here....main use involves a 3/4 mile long drag as soon as I start.
Give a decent run will do low 30’s.

Those are actual litres of fuel and milometer so not trip consumption 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

If it helps, on my l405 4.4 diesel, if I do motorway driving at 60mph I get about 24-26mpg. If I do motorways at 80 I get 33mpg. My car wants me to have fun….

But also, what’s your cruising speed on motorways, and does changing it affect your consumption up or down?

Not sure it gets in to top gear at 60mph.... wonder if changing up manually on paddles helps with mpg...?

That would explain my mystery consumption, and I will try the paddles next time I feel like a leisurely (or hungover) motorway ride

Car usually says around 30 mpg but filling brim to brim shows real world consumption is between 25 and 28 mpg.

I have a faulty fuel gauge so try too keep track between fill ups.... RR Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - 11

Calculated over 70,000 miles I averaged 17.14 mpg but a lot of that was towing 2000 kg of caravan.

19mpg sounds way too low for the 4.4TDV8 engine, assuming it's not in Sport mode and you're not driving it like you stole it

My 2012 4.4TDV8 Westie used to average around 28mpg on supermarket diesel. Longer motorway runs around 30mpg.

Although not done much mileage in my newer AB, round town I seem to get about 30mpg. Just worked it out for yesterdays 300 mile motorway trip and it was 33mpg

I have an L405, so not exactly the same, but over 11,000 miles I've averaged 27.8mpg. That's calculated, the computer is just over 7% optimistic. I do quite a lot of decent length journeys, if all I did was potter around town it wouldn't be much above 20mpg. Best brim-brim has been 31.1mpg and I have seen around 35-36mpg on the computer on long motorway journeys which would have been around 33mpg.

I don't worry about fuel consumption or even cost too much (I used to run a petrol V8 doing over 30k miles a year), but I do like to keep records...for some reason. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

That does seem low fuel economy...
My 2012 4.4 TDV8 (62.000-miles clocked) L322 usually does around 460-480 miles per nearly full tank, but would push into the 500s (I recall getting 520 or more on miles of fuel remaining doing UK general touring when I first got her at 52,000-miles - until the Thatched Garage changed the battery and I lost that good fuel consumption for some bizarre reason) when I first purchased her, which I though was terrific for a full tank costing around £120 back then.
So is it generally good to maintain a 1/4-full tank at all times to keep the DPF in happy times?
Also are those Environmental + DPF additives worth using from time to time? Or do the V-type fuels already have these?

like Rob i was getting high 20's around town and low 30's on runs with my westie..

my L405 tdv6 gets high 30's around town and low 40's on runs...best was 47.7mpg! ... - .- -.
