United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black
Adding phone and upgrading head unit

I have a 2008 Vogue SE tdV8
The screen display has the phone option but phone not fitted message appears
There is or was no phone holder in the glove box until I replaced the centre console with one complete with phone cradle and rear entertainment
There is a Bluetooth unit fitted in the rear above the sat nav but no entertainment unit. The vehicle probably needs a phone unit fitting but where does it fit and what harness is needed.

I’m looking to pair an iPhone and use the fitted screen and vehicle controls but what is the best option
What options are available to upgrade the head unit
Thanks in advance

Not sure why your phone isn’t connecting, but if you want to upgrade then consider a NavTool, I fitted one to my last FF and it’s a fantastic piece of kit. Quite disappointed that I can’t get one for my MY12.

Plenty of threads on here about fitting one.

Be careful if you do choose to buy the NavTool. I have one in my 2009 L322 and it's great! But, getting one that works is a long walk through hell. And, don't be fooled by the claims on the website, it is NOT plug-and-play. To install it you'll need to splice and solder the connectors.

Their customer service is, by far, the worst I've ever seen. And it also seems that it's not uncommon for these units to be defective when sold new.

I equate my ordeal to get a working unit like a pearl in the middle of a huge, steaming pile of crap. If you're willing to dig through the pile of crap with your bare hands to maybe find the pearl, then go ahead. But you'll need plenty of patience!

Good luck!

I saw your struggles Larry, it’s a shame as it’s a great bit of kit and installation isn’t too bad if you take your time I guess I got lucky, I wish I could fit one in my MY12

JoolsB,

Isn't there any devices to give CarPlay to the last revisions of the L322's? Seems something should be out there.

Good luck!

How can you check if the blue tooth unit in the rear is working , I’ve checked it and there is signs of corrosion- are there any checks to find out if it’s working

Only the Naviplus I think and that looks like too much effort for me as the L322 has DAB and an I phone connection. I have to use my phone for navigation but the L322 has a lovely slot for it to sit in Rolling Eyes
