door flap broke off on trailer electric plug socket

so the spring loaded door has plastic hinges....great design RR I know.....well I hooked up my boat trailer lights and the plastic door hinges broke so it fell off and leaves the socket exposed. Is this replaceable without buying the whole unit? 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

I would think that the socket is now scrap if the plastic hinge points have broken.
The plastic wiring socket assembly complete with hinged flap are easy and cheap to buy. Just get a good quality named brand then change over, not a big job. Probably under $20 / $25 from the interweb Sir. Thumbs Up

I agree with Merchy. That's the way I'd tackle it also. Kev

It’s not scrap. I used the socket this past weekend with the broken flap. Only the flap/door that coveres the socket and swings open is bad. It’s the OEM LR unit so I want to replace/keep it OEM. 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

I will re-phrase, the electrics may still work, BUT if the flap / hinge cannot be repaired then the wiring is open to the elements when a trailer is not attached, thus to me, it would then require immediate replacement.

LR never made most of their own towing parts, there maybe LR numbers on some bits, but they are from companies like Westfalia etc. So for instance if the tow bar is a westfalia design then you can source a new socket complete with hinged flap from Westfalia or which ever makers towbar you have, and transfer the wiring from one to another and stay as you quote OEM

It may be Westfalen you’re right. The flap/door does say Land Rover on it but it’s probably just rebranded.

I’ll have to see what the socket runs if I have to replace it...was hoping I could just replace the flap. It’s a crap design...plastic hinges SMH 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

mines not a retractable its a fixed tow bar. But the issue is the electronic socket/flap for the trailer electronics. Did I read right you have vaseline in your socket? 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC
