New defender if you want a boot is a no go it tiny, D5 and RR much better.. I have had both, sold the D5 for the RR as its more comfortable across the board, especially from a drivers point of view... |

You can but the packages are generally awful. In my experience it’s lease new or buy nearly new as there are quite large financial incentives to leasing a new car (we are talking PCP here btw, but I treat it like a lease on the expectation that I’d hand the keys back and walk away at the end). Buying nearly new is also an option as a cost per month of a 12 month old car can be broadly the same if you intend to change every 36 - 48 months.

Based on some of the horror stories I have read and been told about the gremlins and problems with the D5 I would go L405 every time.

Less of a consideration as it’s fully warranted so they can keep fixing it. If it turns out to be a perennial fault / problem I’d request a replacement car and they would have to oblige (noting that it’s actually their car unless I choose to buy it off them at the end of the agreement) |

Enjoying the ownership experience should also be a consideration no matter how the acquisition is funded. Even if a car is warrantied, most wouldn’t want to spend an undue amount of time to and fro a main dealer trying to have recurring issues fettled.

Ref Private Jet: I did but that was more tongue in cheek as I obviously have people to do that for me. |
